Beech - Forgiveness of Self and of Others
Dr. Bach tells us that Beech is indicated for people who are constantly criticizing others. They have a strong sense of their own superiority, and are easily irritated by others behavior. They are convinced they are right and others are wrong. They have rigid attitudes which are often reflected in rigid bodies.
Meditation with the Deva of Beech
Beech (Fagus Sylvatica)
The Deva of the Beech Tree comes forth this week with a message of Forgiveness. This is a subject that many of us have visited and pondered upon. Traditionally the Beech Tree Bach Flower Remedy is for those who find themselves to be intolerant, judgmental and aloof. The Deva of the Beech Tree brings me into the energetic patterns behind the manifestation. Underneath these outer characteristics is a pattern of lack of Self-Forgiveness. We judge and criticize in others what
we cannot tolerate inside ourselves.
There is also the actual event of 'having something done to us' that makes us feel like we have been victimized. These events can cause real and very deep pain. This pain causes knots of obstructing energy within our systems - that can very quickly manifest as physical symptoms.
To move into the state of true forgiveness it is not enough to say that we forgive the other person for what they have done against us, because that is still holding a sense of separation. We must be able to move far enough into the bigger picture and to realize that everything truly happens to us to help us to evolve. This can be a stumbling block when we enter into the arena of what we understand as 'evil'. However, there isn't any one thing that can happen to us that cannot help our Souls to evolve in compassion and Divine Love.
Many of us have made contracts with other Souls before we came into this life - so that we could bring certain experiences to each other for our growth. When we enter through the veil these contracts may be forgotten - indeed need to be forgotten so that the full learning can take place. When we realize that other Souls are bringing us certain experiences (of pain) as part of a Soul agreement for our growth then we can begin to understand even the most extreme experiences in a new light.
The most inspiring account for me of how a soul can learn even from the most extreme situations is by Viktor Frankl in his book Man's Search for Meaning - where he recounts his experiences in a concentration camp - and how the experiences let him to inner freedom.
So the essence of forgiveness that the Deva of the Beech Tree is illuminating for me this evening - is the realization that everything that another does 'to' us is an opportunity for us to grow and evolve. Once we truly 'get' what that is then forgiveness and total release of judgment is a spontaneous event.
