Red Chestnut is the flower for those who have come into this life with the
Soul agreement to be of service, to be of help to others. In its undeveloped
stages this desire to help can be unbalanced and therefore manifest as
an over eagerness to help, and indeed an over concern for the welfare of
others. It can even go so far as to expect that the worst will happen -
and that their help will be needed unremittingly and will never be
'enough' in some essential way. This unbalance sometimes manifests
in parents, especially mothers, and in those who are employed in the
caring professions.

Taking Red Chestnut can assist us in coming into a balance in
how we help, how we assist, how we serve. Not all of us are born with
the Soul agreement that we are here to help. However, I suspect that
many reading this article will be among those who have come in
holding within their core purpose a desire to assist others. Many
of us came into this life knowing that we would witness the change
of the ages, and we came in to consciously assist with that. We may
not have always known that, as we had to clear our karmic paths to
a point where the Soul's purpose was free to move within us. However,
this is now happening. We are awakening to the greater plan, the
bigger picture, and our lives are opening out into the ways that we
can assist others. We are understanding more and more why exactly
we are here and what it is we are to do at the Soul level of Being.

The greatest service we can perform is to ourselves. Coming Home
to ourselves, finding ourselves is the first true step in being truly
able to assist others. This is often overlooked. The Red Chestnut
holds within its medicine the assistance for us to serve ourself
towards our own enlightenment - and not be over concerned about
the effect we will have on others by 'being who we really are'.
Many of us over the years have lived the pattern of 'holding our
selves back for the sake of others.' This may have been timely -
but is it no longer the focus of the grander movement.

In this way this beautiful tree and its red flowers is in
service to us. Its service to us forms a Sacred Hoop of
receptivity as it assists us in stepping into our own
Divine Service.
